The phrase "clutching at straws" comes to mind when AMD announces today that it "...would immediately begin shipping its chips to its two lead partners..." and AMD fanatics start gloating. Somebody tell them that Intel started shipping 1GHz chips to its partners a while back. I haven't seen any AMD 1 Gig systems offered for sale yet. Vapourware from both vendors right now so the race is still on.
