IRVINE, Calif., Mar 6, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Want to keep in touch with friends and family, or conduct business on your wireless phone without using valuable airtime minutes? A first-of-a-kind promotion from AirTouch Cellular provides free, unlimited calls between AirTouch customers in the same local calling area.
Announced today, AirTouch Cellular's "Unlimited Minutes" promotion provides a 100 percent airtime usage discount off normal charges for mobile-to-mobile calls to eligible AirTouch customers placing a call to, or receiving a call from, another AirTouch customer.

Both customers must be in their local calling area. For example, AirTouch customers who call each other via cellular phone to cellular phone in the five-county, Greater Los Angeles area (i.e., Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura counties) can keep in touch with their family, friends, business partners - anyone with an AirTouch phone -and talk for as long as they like without incurring any airtime charges. San Diego customers may use the free minutes for mobile-to-mobile calls anywhere in San Diego County.
There are four Mobile-to-Mobile Calling Areas within the AirTouch Inland California and Northern Nevada local calling area. Both customers must reside and be located within the same Mobile-to-Mobile Calling Area to receive the free Mobile-to-Mobile airtime. The Mobile-to-Mobile Calling Areas include Greater Sacramento, Stockton/Modesto, Chico/Redding and Northern Reno.
The promotion, which is available to AirTouch customers for the duration of their service agreement, is easy and convenient - there is no need to provide lists of friends or family. AirTouch customers can activate the Unlimited Minutes service by calling 1-800-AirTouch.
