March 6, 2000 05:51 PM
CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2000--

Tarantella Enterprise II and Tarantella Express Deploy Applications Via Web Browser

Savoir Technology Group, Inc. SVTG recently became an authorized distributor of SCO's
SCOC Tarantella Enterprise II Web-enabling software. Tarantella allows computer users to
securely access server-based applications through the Internet or enterprise Intranets via
Java-based Web browsers. Tarantella is available for all major UNIX server platforms and
will be available on leading Linux platforms beginning in April 2000. Also included in this
distribution agreement is Tarantella Express, web-enabling software that deploys both
Windows and UNIX applications for the SMB or departmental markets operating on the
SCO OpenServer Release 5 or SCO UnixWare platforms.

SCO offers the Tarantella Enterprise II products only through Tarantella accredited
Value-Added Resellers purchasing from one of three distributors. Of the three companies
authorized by SCO to distribute Tarantella Enterprise II, Savoir is the only IBM midrange
distributor. Savoir will make Tarantella available through AppsMall.com, an on-line software
shopping mall, with whom Savoir shares a strategic alliance. Detailed Tarantella product
information, downloadable evaluation copies and pricing are available immediately at
www.appsmall.com, or to purchase Tarantella Enterprise II licenses and full product
contact your Savoir sales representative.

SCO and Savoir will offer a free, four-day Tarantella Enterprise II training seminar for Savoir
VARs March 14-17, 2000 at Savoir's Campbell, California location. The seminar will also be
offered at Savoir's San Antonio, Texas operating headquarters April 18-21, 2000.

"Tarantella Enterprise II creates a great revenue potential for our certified Solution
Providers," says Jim Teter, Savoir Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "With Tarantella,
our Resellers can offer true thin client computing for the IBM(R) RS/6000(R) server and IBM
AIX(R) operating system, which are among our top product offerings. As an added benefit,
our Partners will be able to target net-new customers, because Tarantella operates on
such a wide range of server platforms and operating systems."

"In our efforts to get Tarantella out to a broader customer base, we require the combined
strengths of a certified sales and order fulfillment team," reports Sheila Baker, SCO Vice
President of U.S. Channel Sales. "By partnering with Savoir, SCO will be able to tap into a
winning IBM reseller network that is backed by Savoir's progressive sales and technical
support."
