I agree. The merger with Corel has become a tragedy still unfolding to Inprise's shareholders. Since the announcement, the value of Inprise's stock has fallen significantly; there is little interest by the broader market to "invest" in this merger. There is also bitter debate on this board. The proposed merger has not caused excitement about the future. Instead, it has upset many shareholders and raised rational concern about the future. For many, the only way out is to sell at a loss. Please do not forget this stock reached $20 a share a few weeks before the merger announcement.

If there was to be a merger where Inprise shareholders were to receive fair value, it should have been a merger of equals. This assumes Corel's stock price will not fall below Inprise's stock price.

Finally, the rumors about Corel's CEO having serious legal difficulties undercuts the intangible issues of faith and trust shareholders must have in management of a "high-tech" company which is still struggling to establish its position in the marketplace. EOM
