I do not agree that companies passing on higher production costs will result in greater profitability. Even if it did result in an increased profit per unit, it would probably negatively impact gross sales numbers, unless the item is must have, like Micky D's <ggg>. Higher costs necessarily negatively impact the bottom line. Higher oil costs will not increase the profitability of Micky D's.
