EpiWhine - Re: " For you to fault AMD for this is a little like the pot calling the kettle black isn't it? "

AMD introduced the 0.18 front end/0.25 micron back end AthWIper at 500 MHz and 1.6 volts. When they moved to 800 MHz they had to jack up the voltage from 1.6 volts to 1.7 volts.

To get to 900 - 1000 MHz, AMD couldn't do this through design or process improvements. Instead AMD had to JACK UP the already-jacked-up-voltage of 1.7 volts to a FURTHER JACKED UP VOLTAGE of 1.8 VOLTS.

AMD is DESPERATE.
