Anyone know who decides to list options on the TSE/MSE? Is/was it the TSE? Is there any criteria being used? ie, market cap/liquidity/price, etc?

There just doesn't seem to be enough optionable securities on the Canadian market. How come stocks like BID.COM is trading while stocks such as Sierra Wireless is not. I remember BID.COM was added when it was trading at about $12 bucks or so (it was one of my first option trades and was successfull for me too) and now SW is at $200, and still no options.

Porter, do you have any ideas?

Also, will we ever get any leaps for stocks such as BCE/NT???? I know LEAPS are (c)CBOE, but it seems like we got to go to the US for long term options.
