well...you asked so I'll tell you.
I don't use TDwaterhouse.
My wife does...all her accounts were with TD when we were married, so we kept them...
for several reasons...
And I have fumbled with webbroker for 3 years now...
As far as big banks discount brokers go, they're all the same. Crap. In Canada...
Royal Bank, terrible, Scotia bank, terrible, Hong Kong Bank.,, ?
Canada trust...now owned by TD...
you get the picture...
I use an old fashioned broker myself,
I pick up the phone, hit speed dial, and he says Hi ISO..and I place my orders, and he does it...
Costs me $150 round trip...
expensive you say....not really....I get my orders executed now...like in seconds....within a 16th...
Now TD bank..everyone says oooo $29 (in Canada)
But...I'll give you an example of how much more expensive they are...
my account I put in a sell order for 10,000 shares of egrp at $25 7/8...bank filled...
Wifes account...1000 shares I placed the order online before I called mine in. Bid was $25 15/16 at the time....
40 minutes later they approved the trade ??? (Keep in mind I am accredited) then they fill it at 25.50
ok...
my broker cost $150 for the round trip
hers cost $29 +29 + (3/8 x 1000)
=$433
and that's just one trade.
And what they don't realize is that they are liable for our losses when they do this over and over again.
not to mention the pablum they dish out from the edshelp..
anyway, like I said, this isn't the forum....
I don't even know what TWE is priced at or the fundamentals.....
I hear similar gripes on the other broker threads, etrade, amtd, ndb, datek, etc....
now if only I could convince my wife that banks are evil.....
EDIT
I looked at the bottom of the screen....$20 ish....at least they aren't sporting an insane stock price...like...AMZN I'll look into the stock more, I may dislike the service, but if money can be made on a stock..come to papa... |
