i was just talking to my grandparents about investing yesterday... they told me they're doing quite well with their own broker whom they've had for 20+ years..

I was telling them about the tech sector as well as the beaten down financials.. they said they let their broker make all the decisions and she went on to boast about how a gas stock they bought 18 years ago at $10/share.. they just sold for $23/share!! "more than doubled our money"..

I told her that most folks are doing that within a year or two in any conservative technology fund.. but she didn't believe me.. WOW! 18 years in a stock and best you can do is a double?? inflation adjusted that cant be much better than if they'd had it in a bank at 2 to 3% interest..

we're going through an investing revolution... the whole way the market functions is drastically changing.. and technology (software/networking), the internet and wireless is shaping up to be the most sound investments a person can be in today... (diversified with a few financials.. biotech and maybe some healthcare)

glad I'm young enough that I"m not set in my ways but instead willing to change my strategies when I see that I'm not getting the desired results while others around me are
