Why am I writing this? I don't even know what Jim said about walking into women's rooms. But why not? No one could possibly be reading the 3097 posts now being submitted hourly here. Who cares how inane this gets. You used the word consternation, from which I inferred that you were uncomfortable with that situation and I thought it was interesting since I, as a very shy and easily intimidated woman, had no problem the other day marching into the men's room at a mall and commandeering it for a group of women. The janitor had closed the women's room and all these women were standing around whining with their legs crossed, so I just went into the men's, told them it was an emergency, and when all the men left, told the women to come in and I stood outside and told any men who wandered up that it was now a ladies' room. They all nodded and walked away, very accepting. I thought it was funny none of them waited or said, "No, it's not, get out of the way." I think men accept bathrooms, even their own, as being naturally women's territory. On the other hand, I come completely unravelled in any area that involves cars or machinery and immediately assume the dumb, submissive female role, no matter how hard I try not to.
Thank you - I'm done. |
