this makes sense....it is fairly common sense that a group cant outperform itself as a group if it is the group......i do believe there are specific managers who are excellent investors and can over time outperform the indexes......and you are correct that they are few and far between.....this is for multiple reasons......neff outperformed his benchmark by 3% for 31 yrs.........
