Medsite Names Dr. Sumit Dutta as Director of Product Management
Physician Will Lend First-Hand Professional Viewpoint to Development And Assessment of Medsite Product Offerings
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2000--Medsite, the physician's home on the Internet, today announced that Dr. Sumit Dutta has joined the Company as Director of Medsite Product Management.
Dr. Dutta, who is the former Director of Primary Care Services at New York University Health Center, will work in Medsite's Corporate Marketing Department and be responsible for insuring that all Medsite products are physician friendly and consistent with Medsite's overall brand image.
In his previous position at NYU, Dr. Dutta's responsibilities included managing departmental operations, clinical quality assurance, patient care and teaching activities. Working in collaboration with the Curator of the Erhman Medical Library at the NYU Medical Center, Dr. Dutta studied the effects of using the Internet to provide clinical information at the point of care for the physicians and staff at the NYU Health Center. Also, Dr. Dutta directed the implementation of electronic medical records at the health center and served as member of Medic Computer System's clinical advisory board. Prior to that, Dr. Dutta was a practicing physician, serving both with the New York University Health Center and with Norwegian American Hospital in Chicago.

Dr. Dutta is a board-certified Internist who completed an Internship in Psychiatry at the University of Chicago Hospitals and a residency in Internal Medicine at Rush Medical Center in Chicago. He earned his Medical degree from the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University. Dr. Dutta is a Stern Scholar at New York University's Stern School of Business, where he is near completion of a Masters in Business Administration. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. |
