One reason productivity is supposedly going up is because workers are now more likely to be compensated on a fixed basis (i.e. salary) and these workers are working a whole lot longer than their reported standard work week - as in 60 hours rather than the reported 37.5.

I've never seen anything to support this other than tons of anecdotal stuff so who knows how large the effects are. All these stats are becoming worthless. Kinda like reported earnings. -g- The age of lies.
