How come schwab never seems to have any IPO shares anymore

It is my understanding that they are working on a structure or department of the company that will become the "investment bank" of the company, which will be based in San Francisco.

Under this structure, they will have control of the IPO as underwriters and will not depend on third parties to get said IPO shares.

One important point to realize here is that it is also my understanding that the majority of venture capital firms reside in Silicon Valley, near San Francisco, and/or san Francisco itself.

The above, I found out in a casual conversation I had with a Schwab client at one of the branches.

Therefore, I would only consider this to be a mere RUMOR.

Having said that, it does make sense, and would be a logical step to follow as part of a growing strategy for a company like Schwab, since their acquisition of Northern Trust, and of the day trading firm (I forgot its name), they recently announced.

Indeed the news on the earlier post re: FX seems to follow said strategy.

All of the above, strictly my opinion.
