On behalf of myself and all the other lurkers on this quiet thread, thanks for recapping.

Lately, there's really been no reason to post. Things look great. In particular, I understand that the firewall product is blowing off the shelves. I agree that the retail space is tough, but Thompson is doing this right: He is engaging in heavy competition to get the customer in the store to buy Norton. Once the customer is hooked on Norton, the customer can purchase updates online (95%+ gross margins) or download other Norton products (AV, firewall, ghost, etc., all with comparable huge gross margins if downloaded). JT is trying to turn SYMC into a 90%+ gross margin business, and my bet is that he will succeed as broadband downloads become more commonplace. My earnings model projects 25% net margins within 3-5 years. So long as JT can keep the top line growing, I suspect SYMC will be a monster.
