Just for the record: I'm a great believer in MVIS. I'm long -have been since 1996. I don't think MVIS is over valued, on the contrary. I wouldn't be a bit surprised (albeit very happy!) if we see triple digits soon. By the end of this year? Who knows, maybe the first of the three figures has clicked up.
On the Yahoo! Club board, the Champagne has started to flow, and the posts have become slightly OT these last couple of days... :-)
There are several issues that I'd like to address, primarily to humbly express a certain level of caution, mainly because tension is growing in expecting some kind of bombshell news from MVIS:
1) I'd be careful in assuming the cash burn rate has subdued during the fourth quarter. There has been no news indicating other than continued efforts in R&D are the order of the day. But that doesn't matter: It's the R&D (so far) that will assure revenues when the time is right. 2) People express exaggerated hopes to a split. Why split? The capitalized value remains the same, one share becomes 2 and the price will halve. Big deal! Why should I want to get all excited about buying 1,000 shares @30, when it's just as easy to buy 500 @60. The split argument can have some importance if a stock is traded at several hundreds of $$ a piece, because that would discourage small investors. For the time being, we'll be better off getting (and keeping) the attention of larger investors. 3) We know that down the line, some news will pop. Maybe even the breaking news that will push us to heaven. I'm looking forward to that day myself, but it would be a mistake to antecipate news we assume/hope are coming -and even setting dates (CC coming up) for it. 4) Both here and on the Yahoo! Club Board there are great people posting. The 'ambiance' is fascinating and the level of knowledge high. I know this will be maintained, and it's hard not to overheat, but calling each others MVIS millionaires won't do the trick. I'm trying hard to focus ahead, and try not to get stuck with the immediate. 2000 has already been a breakthrough year for the stock price, and for a couple of years now, we've also become aware that MVIS' commercial breakthrough might be established this year, too.
Sorry if this is perceived as being dampening on the high spirits, because that isn't my intention. I just feel it would be a good idea for the quality of our boards to keep a sober profile. (There will be plenty of bubbly in June!). However, I reserve the right to post a loud yeehaa! on the odd occasion...
