so, where's our weekly press release? usatoday.com
Larry, I would not fret that ONT 'takes over your computer' or that it demands certain versions of Browser/plug-ins. Every online enhancing experience does this, whether it be an Online Gaming Network, or Real Time Quote Stream. What concerns me is that once you have met all those requirements, it does not always remain stable. There is no question that on2movies is an amazing demonstration of new technology, but it is certainly no where near ready for broader distribution, and I feel many content providers are holding back because of this. Remember, the TWX and UAL deals can go ahead because ONT and those partners can work to mold ONT's systems to fit their specific needs. But as a generic source of content using Broswer Based Broadband, on2movies leaves much to be desired. The only thing working in our favor right now, is that their competition is in many respects, in even worse shape; they may have a wider range of content, but with nowhere near the level of true full screen video (VHS'like 640x480, on a 1024x768 shockwave backround) that ONT has demonstrated at on2movies. I'm very impressed how ONT's CODEC maintains such an even stream, with very high detail, with only the slightest pixelation between major scene changes. RealNetworks and MicroSoft still suffer from frame skips, lower definition at comprable screen sizing, and regular pixelation, while ONT has somehow managed to overcome these common problems. Also, nothing I've seen from Pixelon is any threat to ONT either. Hazzah to ONT's technology wizards. Now if their Marketing Department was even half that capable we'd really have something here.
