The renewal is for the second agreement year of the 65-month, $120-million contract awarded to Beyond.com and ITC in June of 1999. The full renewal of the IRS contract continues to strengthen the relationship Beyond.com and ITC have established with the Department of Treasury. "Beyond.com's Enterprise Download technology helps us reduce our total cost of ownership when deploying the latest software such as Windows 2000," said IRS Departmental Systems Branch Chief Dan McLaughlin. "We are extremely pleased with the resulting efficiencies of the relationship so far, and we are committed to saving taxpayer dollars while we meet our objectives to improve processes and service." "The renewal of the IRS contract is confirmation of Beyond.com's proven digital download value and software management capabilities in the enterprise marketplace," said Steven Cooker, vice president of government sales for Beyond.com. "We are pleased to continue to facilitate the government's progress toward standardized, digital delivery of all software, and hence help reduce the total cost of software ownership for the government."
