>>with the tepid response by the market on CYCO
Gordie, I don't think that the CYCO picture is clear to many perspective investors because it approaches the model from several different angles. It's not strictly copper, not strictly wireless, nor is it strictly fiber, and not strictly voice or data, and they purport to be able to handle a lot of other fancy things which extend out to the clouds. For these reasons they have a tougher time conveying exactly what it is they do, which probably gives investors cause to be cautious about their prospects.
In general, I think that we may be seeing a sustained, albeit a dwindling, hurrah for the nailed up physical layer guys who only provide Layer 1 up the riser. Or, as in the case of CYCO, up and down the riser.
IMO, there's still a lot of steam left in the premises and last 1000 feet specialized sectors, but I'd be watching for some new virtual overlay plays, soon, the types who can support optical and wireless configuration services which are both flexible and extensible. Just my 2 photons. FAC |
