I called my husband, Joe SixPack, federal bureaucrat, and told him that the Dow went down almost 400 points today. He said "My God! I'd better take my money out of the stock fund." He has until the middle of the month to make up his mind, and it goes into effect first of the month. All over America, and really, the rest of the world, are lots and lots of Joe SixPacks, who won't know what hit them until they hear it tonight on the TV or radio news, or read about it in the paper tomorrow. Chain reaction?
