Odd that you should bring up Stratfor... a number of us on the Asia Forum thread - before extremists killed it - followed Stratfor quite closely for some time, and reached the conclusion that their reports took an unnecessarily hysterical tone in dealing with issues that would be better served by cool-headed evaluation. It sometimes seems that every report they issue deals with some imminent catastrophe that only they have spotted. I don't doubt that it sells newspapers.... I still read their stuff occasionally, but I take it with numerous grains of salt, and always balance it with other reading.
