I think folks here are ahead of themselves a bit with this S&P 500 thing, for the reasons you mention.

Did you notice that SDLI also had the same kind of bungee jump drop and recovery in the afternoon, a little earlier than JDSU? GLW however dived 6% or so and did not recover.
