as an aside, regarding 'analysts' and 'strategists', while most people would probably agree that a stock market crash would be a bad thing, i personally think there's one extremely good reason to look forward to one: the spectacle of a speechless Joey when asked on CNBC "why didn't you warn us".

seriously, it would do a lot to strengthen the moral fiber of the country so to speak. the bubble, the attendant bezzle, the Clinton administration, all are signs of the decadence that always blooms at the height of an empire's power. however, it is usually also a sign that the downfall is near...
