Voltaire, I have lurked here for many months and even corresponded with you several months ago on the Yahoo FF board (volts - unless that was an imposter). I have been reading your covered call strategies and was curious as to whether you would use these regardless of age. I am 27 so I have felt like I have the time frame to be as aggressive as possible. However, I read your message about your friend who built up a small fortune only to lose it and have to build it again. I am too damn lazy to build it again. Anyway, I would appreciate your opinion on my position: I have about 7000 shares of which half qualify for long term gains in April. I am trying to hold out but I am getting nervous lately. The bad news is bad news and good news is bad news psychology seems to have set in on QCOM. None of my shares are covered and they represent 90% of my portfolio. I can live with dead money for six weeks, I am just fearful of an earnings warning (I thought PG was a safe stock). I know they reaffirmed .25 after the 1q conf call so I would be stunned if they missed. Sorry to be so long winded but here are my questions

1) Would you cover your shares at my age and tax scenario? and if so would you cover them all?

2) Do you foresee any possibility of a 2qtr earnings warning?

Thank you for your help and insight and for the privilege to sit on the porch. I hope to retire by 30 and sit on the porch 24/7 with a few drinks and women (Oops! make that woman. Forgot I was married. LOL!)
