Just read through these pages (not long at all) and make note of the different topics covered. It's quite amazing....here's a teaser for you all -
**** DirCommerce: Fee-based Directory Services on the Web
Speakers: Troy Martin, Development/Project Manager, Novell, Inc. Mike Brown, Product Manager, Novell, Inc.
As Novell Directory Services becomes more entrenched in the Internet, customers will want to use the Directory to do business. The Directory Commerce Engine (d-Commerce) provides the means for users to USE the Directory to buy, sell, and grant access to NDS objects. D-Commerce engine features include the API which allows developers to tap into the d-Commerce engine, web-based reporting tools that provide auditing and record management, and integration with credit card and merchant account engines. This technology is Java based and runs on the current JVMs with no client dependencies. The d-Commerce engine will enable Novell products such as: digitalme, NIMS, iChain to provide an e-Commerce story and integration to their customers. *******
From reading this, Novell could have components ready for creating an e-commerce platform that not only includes identity management but the real "nuts & bolts" of e-commerce as well.
