Seagate, Eurologic, Emulex, Finisar Demonstrate 2 Gb/s Fibre Channel SAN
3/7/00 Eurologic Systems (Hanover, Germany) is partnering with Emulex, Finisar, and Seagate Technology for a 2Gb/s Fibre Channel SAN solution. The technology was showcased at CeBIT 2000 in Germany from February 24 to March 1.
The demonstration was held concurrently at Emulex, Finisar, and Seagate booths in the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) room. It featured Eurologic's Fibre Channel-enabled network storage system in conjunction with Emulex's LightPulse Fibre Channel host adapter, Finisar's 2.5Gb/s GBIC transceivers and GTX 2Gb/s fibre channel protocol analyzer, and Seagate's 2Gb/s fibre channel-enabled disc drives, all operating at 2Gb/s data rate.
