Due to my renewed interest in white LEDs because of SLI, I decided it was time to check and see where this sparkling new technology fits in our lives. I've compiled a list of how it may affect our most urgent needs <gg>. 1) Breathing - Ooo, that's a tough one. I wonder if the XGaN has a short enough wavelength to kill nasties in the air? Maybe if it is used in conjunction with a catalytic surface? Maybe these LEDs could replace UV lights for such purposes? Photo Dynamic Therapy could also be a use for these things, given that the correct wavelengths and intensities are possible. 2) Drinking - same argument as with air purification. Novelty champagne glass lights <gg>. 3) Sex - I couldn't decide if I should put this before food or after, but since I just ate...... Dashboard lights!, as in "paradise by". On the downside, a cool white bright light on a stick may be useful in some diagnosis <gg>. 4) Food - Germ-killing refrigerator lights? Nightly stealth refrigerator attacks? General kitchen lighting. 5) Other - massive TV billboards (yuck), backlighting LCDs, endoscopic illumination. Please add anything that strikes your fancy <gg>. JF
