Glenn, VIX signals investor sentiment - its a contrarian indicator...when sentiment is bullish, vix falls and low twenties represents a good selling opportunity as euphoria takes over....anything around 30s represents a buying opportunity, sentiments are usually pretty low here..... Its not fool proof.... EDIT : I'm trying to find the exact date for VERT split...its sometime later this month, but will let you know... EDIT EDIT : Vert Splits on March 31
