NCR Systemedia Group Expands into B2B E-Commerce and Integrated Supply Chain Management with the Support of Trilogy and i2 Technologies
DAYTON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2000-- NCR Systemedia Group today announced the formation of strategic alliances with Trilogy Software Inc. and i2 Technologies in a project that will significantly enhance its e-commerce offerings in the marketplace. Systemedia Group will be using improved e-commerce technologies to identify, define and offer customers in key industries, such as convenience stores, community banks and other small businesses, the ability to order consumables such as receipts, papers, ribbons, inkjet products and a variety of other consumable items directly from the site.
For more than three years NCR Systemedia has been an industry leader in Internet-based solutions, enabling customers to place secure orders, obtain up-to-the-minute order status information and create real-time inventory and usage reports. With the new functionality, NCR will be able to reach new customers with targeted product information specific to their needs and enable those customers to purchase those products online.
Through the agreement with Trilogy, NCR will integrate new shopping cart technology into its e-commerce offering. In addition, i2 Technologies, an industry leader in supply chain management, will help NCR meet the growing demands of e-commerce with back-end support and optimization. This engagement will focus on issues relating to supply chain management, delivery lead time, forecasting and order fulfillment, allowing NCR to bring world-class solutions to market more efficiently and cost effectively.
