If a bear market hits us like the one in 1973-1974 I think that alot of people and companies will slow down or even stop their capital equipment expenditures. This would result in a terrible slowdown in earnings if not a reduction in earnings.

But when the coast looks clear and the prospect of higher earnings is back Intel would take off like missile.

I was busy building the business I recently sold so I have not been in the market since the early 1980's. When I finally looked up I learned the Dow had risen from 800 to 6500, OUCH.

I have been back in and out trading since last October and have done very well. I have been leary of putting both feet in the water at this point. Now that I have the financial ability and time to manage it, I am spooked.
