More than interesting is the fact that only on 12/23/99, when a picture of the Intel Consumer Desktop Roadmap for 2000 appeared, the rollout of the 1GHz PIII was targeted for 4Q00 NOT 2Q00!

The Willamette along with the Tehama chipset was targeted 4Q00 too. Might that 1.5 GHz chip be much farther along than a 4Q00 intro date indicates? Can you envisige what will be available for the big 4Q00 selling season?

It strikes me as interesting that Intel can release something only 2 1/2 months from the time they said it would take 10 months to release.

Bodes well for Rambus I believe. The speed roadmap has been pushed forward - and likely with it, demand for RDRAM.
