Bank One Unveils eMoneyMail E-Mail Payment System

Dow Jones Online News, 03/8/2000 06:54

CHICAGO -(Dow Jones)- Bank One Corp. (ONE) confirmed the introduction of eMoneyMail, an e-mail payment system that allows consumers to send and receive up to $500 cash at one time.

In a press release Wednesday, Bank One said the system combines checking accounts, credit cards, debit cards and e-mail.

By filling out an e-mail form, users can send money via a Visa credit card, a Visa debit card or a checking account. Individuals can receive payment through Visa credit card, Visa debit card, checking account and, eventually, a paper check sent by surface mail.

Senders will pay a $1 charge for each transaction, while receivers will pay a $1 charge if they get a paper check.

People don't have to be Bank One customers to use eMoneyMail.
