Well Sarkie at least its all just been in the last month!
Lol... I know exactly how you feel. Living in the NW for many years, I can tell you that it can be far more depressing (if you let it) when it goes on day after day month after month, on and on... right up to July 4 most of the time, then starting all over in September... its not so much the amount, its just a darn annoying constant fog like cold drizzle, with occasional heavy storms! Then again, December was blue skies (but cold) up there for the 2 weeks I was there! That happens. Down here, its bang, deluge floods and all! A lot of cities on the east coast and down south like Miami, Atlanta, N. Orleans actually get more annual rain than Seattle and Portland for instance....it comes in quick bursts here in S. Cal, it was dry as a bone from July-January, nary a drop, now its almost caught up back to normal in 1 month. Crazy!
My family up north says too that it will "all fall in the ocean" down here lol but... its actually the exact opposite, the local mountains ringing the area are quite young geologically and rising up... but as you know, that creates the smog problem, and the quake faults, (the NW has had devastating quakes in the past also) so... everywhere has its plusses and minuses! sorry to ramble... I miss everything about the NW except the drizzle and high prices lol
