Digital Microwave Corporation Receives Orders
Totaling $5.5 Million In People's Republic of China

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Microwave
Corporation (Nasdaq: DMIC - news) today announced that it has
recently received additional orders valued at a total of $5.5
million (US) from two companies in the Peoples' Republic of
China. The orders, which are for Altium(TM) and SPECTRUM(TM)
II microwave radios, are from China Unicom Guangdong Branch
and China Mobile Chong Qing Branch. The orders represent on-
going business with China Unicom, a long-term customer of
Digital Microwave Corporation, which has been establishing
new telecommunications services and expanding existing
networks in various provinces throughout China over the past
several years. Radios in the current orders, to be used for
GSM cellular network expansion, are scheduled for delivery by
the end of March.

The orders were won in partnership with the Beijing Telecom
Equipment Factory, a major manufacturer of telecommunications
products and an official representative of Digital Microwave
Corporation within China. Beijing Telecom Equipment Factory
provides system integration, localized installation,
technical support and customer service for Digital Microwave
Corporation systems.
