EMC if forcing conversion of a series of convertible bonds. Is this a good sign? It appears that companies force conversion if they think their stock is undervalued, but I may be reading the whole think backwards and I have no experience in convertable bonds. (Sorry can't provide a useable link).

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The promising rally in small-cap technology stocks is sparking a historic jump in redemptions in the convertible bond market, as issuers look to sell their stocks before they go even higher.
.......
The bulk of this month's redemptions is expected to come from Qualcomm Inc.'s (QCOM) 2 7/8% convertible preferreds, EMC Corp.'s (EMC) 3 1/4% convertible bonds due 2002 and Human Genome's 5% six-year convertible bonds.
