Global TeleMedia International and Marlon Jackson's Company MusicFormula.com Sign Preliminary Agreement For Participation in the BentleyTel.com Proprietary SmartCard
Jump to first matched term
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2000--

Marlon Jackson, original member of the Jackson 5, has
agreed that MusicFormula.com will enter into a Digital-music
exclusive development and distribution agreement with BentleyTel.com
Global TeleMedia International, Inc. (OTC: BB:GTMI) announced today that it has signed a preliminary agreement with E-music company, MusicFormula.com, under which BentleyTel and DataExchange will develop and host the web site and allow the distribution of downloadable Digital-music through BentleyTel's Proprietary SmartCard. Data Exchange and BentleyTel.com have previously executed several co-development and marketing agreements for related technology.

MusicFormula.com has assembled a powerful team which includes, President, Marlon Jackson, Chief Financial Officer, John Walton, former Senior Financial Analyst for the Walt Disney companies, and Chief Technology Officer, Michael Vasser, former Director of Computing at UCLA Life and Sciences Division.

Through a strategic relationship, MusicFormula management would utilize the BentleyTel SmartCard as their "Play-Card" and access the global market built on E-commerce. MusicFormula.com had planned to embark on a $3 million program to develop this "Play-Card", which will access the Web, facilitate the purchase of MP3 players, download music and purchase concert tickets.

Chief Executive Officer of MusicFormula, Carter A. Beavers, said, "The BentleyTel SmartCard is much more than we ever expected to find in a piece of plastic.

MusicFormula.com is very excited to utilize the BentleyTel.com SmartCard. The agreement will include participation and interaction of MusicFormula.com and co-development of an interactive Digital-music Web site as a link from the BentleyTel Web site currently being developed. The SmartCard members will have access to MP3 players and downloadable music (legislation permitting) that can include, original artists from MusicFormula.com's stable as well as jazz, contemporary and the latest releases in fact every facet of the music industry can be represented."

COO, John Walsh, said, "We are very excited by the offer of a joint development in the field of Digital-music. We have now captured the 5 foremost E-commerce applications: E-commerce purchasing, ATM/funds transfer, international calling including full operator service in over 100 countries, Integrated Unified Messaging through MessagePilot(TM) and downloadable Digital-music and related products.

Carter Beavers continued, "The BentleyTel SmartCard could be the easiest and fastest way to distribute the latest music via the Web to the Pacific Rim countries where CDs are either in short supply or there is no distribution available. BentleyTel is operating in the BIMP-EAGA area with a potential of 400 million people most of whom have little or no access to music stores, and those stores usually are not stocked with the latest releases.

"At MusicFormula we noted that there is an extensive CableTV network in the Pacific Rim countries. People can watch MTV but have little or no access to purchasing the music. Using an MP3 player purchased via Global TeleMedia's BentleyTel card, members can download the latest music from their PC or from any of the 33-satellite calling sites owned by BentleyTel.com."

MusicFormula.com has also agreed to participate in the distribution network and the proliferation of more independent distributors in the Pacific Rim commencing in the countries where BentleyTel has outlets and expanding into North America.

Marlon Jackson and Carter Beavers will attend the BentleyTel international technology workshop and Board meeting in New York in March. They will meet with principals of Data Exchange to develop strategies for the development of a 16 page fully interactive MusicFormula.com Web site to be maintained by the BentleyTel/Data Exchange team.
