Gary, they s&rewed me hard on this.
I had a limit buy order in for DCLK at $71...got the on-line confirmation, and then DCLK rocked up over $80 (that day). I thought I was a genius to get in near the bottom, and the next day DCLK gained another 10 points or so. Anyway, that day (at least 24 hours later) I get this message from etrade that says something to the effect that even though my buy order was confirmed, they are revoking the buy because the ask never hit $71.
I also got a written confirmation in the mail...which was also revoked.

In the fine print...there is a little blurb that says E-trade has the right to revoke any limit fill within something like 36 hours. This is the rule they fell back on when I got my lawyer to call. Yep...it's there in the fine print...and I got screwed.
