Here is news, question what to buy, Cardero or Ascot?
Kaiser says Ascot in a win-win situation Ascot Resources Ltd AOT Shares issued 17,840,506 2000-03-08 close $0.57 Wednesday Mar 8 2000 John Kaiser, writing in the March 6 Bottom-Fish Action for Feb. 14 to 25, says any hopes that John Toffan might steer Ascot into a technology play were temporarily dashed by news that Ascot is becoming a holding company for another public company. Ascot was 47 cents at the time of his report. Mr. Kaiser recommended Ascot in December, 1999, at 21 cents. He tipped it a buy in December, 1996, at 44 cents, but recommended selling in November, 1997, at 18 cents. In the current report, Mr. Kaiser says the company being held is Tony Drescher's Cardero Resource Corp., then $1.50. Cardero has acquired an option to earn 60 per cent of the Cori Huarmi prospect in Peru for $600,000 (U.S.), 600,000 shares and $6.5-million (U.S.) in exploration over six years. Cori Huarmi is seen as a Pierina-style high sulphidation epithermal gold prospect. Mr. Kaiser says that while the market responded enthusiastically to Cardero, it responded weakly to Ascot. He calls that a mistake, reasoning if Cori Huarmi is a success, Ascot wins; if it is a dud, Ascot could turn Cardero into a technology play.
