Milo - OT<Also DSL costs min. $40 for the slowest service of 256k/64k plus the cost of a ISP (around $24 bucks for same rate)>

No it doesn't. I got my modem for $89, my last hook up FOR FREE, and I pay $30 / mo to GTE for 768k/264. I pay ~20 / Mo for ISP. Just FYI. Your other points about Cable access are noteworthy. I now lots of folks like their calbe access. There are pros and cons to both, IMO (one con is I do not care for dealing with my local cable co any more than I have to!!!). As I said, I live 800 feet from the switch. I'm actually rated for 8 Meg., I think. Maybe that's high, but that's what is sticking in my mind from the phone guy.
