I read your post. I am in the multi channel distribution business (food business) and that's what G* is in now. So you bring up many fine points.

1. Once G* sells the HS's to the SP it "sort of" is out of their hands~ they have sold them and it is now up to these independent business partners, SP's, to make it happen.

2. G* could implement an channel marketing program whereby if the SP orders so many phones per Qtr or per Year they receive XX~~ XX being a bonus, or a rebate on purhcases, or a trip for the #1 sales rep, etc...It's an in house promo that the consumer knows nothing about.

3. Same with minutes~ If a SP bills so many minutes per Qtr or Year then they receive a 5% rebate on all minutes billed, and trust me, the SP does not usually pass it along to the consumer, it is a pad to their bottom line.

I will tell you from experience, that this is a fine line G* walks. The SP's do their own thing and they do not usually want someone telling them what to do, but this is where an Account Exec comes in to play, he calls on them and motivates them to push the program.

I am not sure if this is in place or not. Is it??

We do it all the time. Hit this goal and you get "XX"!!

"XX" can be anything you want as long as it makes financial sense.
