(BSNS WIRE) PFSweb's Blue Chip Client List Expands; E-logistics Firm App PFSweb's Blue Chip Client List Expands; E-logistics Firm Appoints Two New VPs Business Editors & Technology Writers PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 2000--PFSweb, Inc. (Nasdaq: PFSW), a leading international provider of e-logistic services for both traditional and e-commerce companies, added 15 new customers during 1999. To support and develop these and future clients, PFSweb has created a new Technology team that will be engaged in research and development of leading edge processes. PFSweb services include order management, call center, email support, distribution, billing and information services. "This past year was a very exciting year for PFSweb," stated Mark C. Layton, chairman, president and CEO of PFSweb. "We added approximately 15 new clients, most of which became operational during the last four months of the year in order to meet their holiday season needs." Some of the clients include retailers, e-tailers and manufacturers such as Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP), Nokia Mobile Phones (NYSE: NOK), Thomson Consumer Electronics (NYSE: TMS), Global Sports Interactive (Nasdaq: GSPT), a new division of IBM (NYSE: IBM), Daisytek International (Nasdaq: DZTK), The Sharper Image (Nasdaq: SHRP), Roots Canada, Adaptec (Nasdaq: ADPT), Yardmart, an office products distributor, and several other dot.com businesses including a leading brand fashion manufacturer. "In addition, we also expanded our international operations by opening a new distribution center in Liege, Belgium. The European operation facilitated the expansion of our existing relationship with IBM and also created the opportunity to service ISA International (FTSE: ISA), a United Kingdom-based computer supplies firm," Layton said. "Our ongoing sales pipeline and marketing efforts remain strong. During the coming months, we should see the development and announcement of more strategic alliances and new clients. To provide the current and future clients with leading edge services and technologies, we have created a new E-commerce Technology team. This team will continually strive to strengthen and expand our systems architecture," he said. Michael Willoughby has been appointed vice president of e-commerce technologies to lead a team of IT developers in support of PFSweb's invention, acquisition, development, integration and support of e-commerce technologies. Willoughby brings 16 years of experience in the information technology and e-commerce development fields. "Michael is an exciting addition to our team - a true recognized leader in his field," Layton said. "Before joining us he founded two successful businesses, and I think his experience and entrepreneurial spirit will be an asset to PFSweb." "We were lucky enough to get someone who is right out of that arena and who was the founder of an e-commerce software company to lead our expanded team of e-commerce researchers and inventors," said PFSweb's Chief Technology Officer Steve Graham. "Willoughby was the founder of Design Technologies, Inc., the company that co-developed PFSweb's e-commerce software engine, currently called the business system interface, which greatly enables rapid implementation of clients' business," Graham said. "This proprietary software provides real-time, high-level connectivity with our customers, vendors and partners." PFSweb's e-commerce technologies group handles the company's Web applications, such as catalog and order management; real-time interfaces to PFSweb systems for business-to-business and business-to-consumer transaction management, and real-time interfaces to vendor support services, such as payment processing, export compliance and fraud management. PFSweb also announced that it has promoted Valarie Remmers to vice president of Information Technology. The 17-year veteran of the IT field has been with PFSweb for two years. Remmer's responsibilities at PFSweb include leading the implementation and client support teams in the IT organization, as well as guiding the overall IT development for the PFSweb company infrastructure. "Valarie has been a key figure in helping PFSweb develop its IT organization," Graham said. "She will work with the e-commerce technology team to ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure as well as our clients' success." Remmers served at PFSweb as a director of IT, prior to her appointment to vice president. Before joining PFSweb, she spent three years at PageNet, three years as a manager and senior manager at Sprint, and nine years at Andersen Consulting. She earned her bachelor's degree in accounting, with a specialization in computer science, from the University of Illinois. About PFSweb, Inc.
