There's only one real problem with this scenario: why did Suzanne run aimlessly instead of knocking on the door of a nearby well-lighted house for help? Presumably the killer wouldn't have been crazy enough to follow her right up to the doorstep.

I suppose that in her panic she may not have been thinking straight, but still it seem odd, especially if she initially had a lead on the killer.
