Teklogix awarded major contract by Copenhagen Airports A/S

Company's First Wide Area Network Sale From Ericsson Partnership

MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 8 /CNW/ - Teklogix International Inc, a leading
supplier of wireless communications for mobile applications, today announced
it has been awarded its first wide area network contract (WAN), worth over
$1 million, by Copenhagen Airports A/S located in Copenhagen and Roskilde,
Denmark.
Copenhagen Airport is the main traffic hub for all of Northern Europe.
The Teklogix solution integrates over 240 Teklogix 7035 handheld computers and
Ericsson private Mobitex radio base stations, with the airport's
SAP(TM) R/3(R) enterprise system in an application which spans 30 square
kilometers.
The implementation of Ericsson's private Mobitex technology with
Teklogix' integrated wireless system is the result of a strategic product
development and marketing partnership between Ericsson and Teklogix, which was
announced by Teklogix in April, 1999.
"Copenhagen Airports A/S is looking forward to working with Teklogix as a
strategic partner to meet our current and future wireless data collection
needs," said Jan Moller Hartvig, Logistic Manager, Copenhagen Airports A/S.
"The integration of Teklogix' unique hardware and software expertise with SAP
R/3 will be a significant contributor to the Airports' future development."
"This contract is a huge win for Teklogix as it marks our first sale
combining all three of our core technologies - traditional handheld products,
integration services (ISG) employing TekRF(TM) Integration Components for R/3,
and our newly launched WAN product - to provide a complete customer solution"
said Ian McElroy, President and CEO of Teklogix. "This is the first phase of
Copenhagen Airports' roll-out plans that could add up to 450 additional
handheld units over the next year for applications such as gate control and
baggage handling" added McElroy.
"Copenhagen Airport and passengers traveling through Northern Europe's
largest hub will see significant service benefits from this solution, which
features Ericsson's private Mobitex technology and SAP-certified software for
R/3 from Teklogix," said Lars Wallstrom, Manager Marketing & Sales Mobitex
Infrastructure, Ericsson. "This prestigious contract confirms the wide-area
logistics concept that Teklogix and Ericsson are pioneering and is the first
step in a very successful partnership."
Teklogix is a global leader in wireless data communications for supply
chain and inventory management. The company designs, manufactures, markets,
and supports large-scale systems and products for corporations with a mobile
workforce and a need for real-time interactive data communications. The
company's systems are typically used by large-scale organizations in the
manufacturing, retail, transportation and service industries. The company's
Integration Services Group (ISG) specializes in providing data collection
solutions for SAP R/3 enterprise systems with TekRF Integration Components for
R/3. An estimated 6,000 Teklogix systems are installed in more than 50
countries worldwide. The company has 39 sales and support offices and 26
independent distributors throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Australia,
