uniView Technologies Corp. Appoints New Executives; Hurst and Thomas Enhance Technology and Financial Operations
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 2000--uniView Technologies Corp. (Nasdaq:UVEW), a leader in e-commerce, interactive broadband services and video on demand, announces the appointment of Cameron E. Hurst to chief technology officer (CTO) and David M. Thomas to chief financial officer (CFO) and vice president of finance.
In his new position, Mr. Hurst will apply his more than 15 years of technical experience to direct and manage all network operations for uniView's four divisions: uniView Softgen, Products Group, Advanced Systems Group and Network America. As CFO and vice president of finance, Mr. Thomas will oversee the global financial operations including accounting, policy development and implementation, mergers and acquisitions review and global financing activities for uniView and its subsidiaries.

Additionally, uniView Softgen announced that Alfred V. Bruns has accepted the position of vice president of engineering. Mr. Bruns, who previously was the senior director of Alcatel/DSC Communications' Intelligent Network Division, will direct uniView Softgen's team of engineers and software developers to continue the company's product excellence.
Mr. Hurst, cofounder of the uniView Softgen division, has been leading product strategy and development for CIMphony(TM), a complete suite of CTI applications for call centers, as vice president and CTO of uniView Softgen. Prior to establishing Softgen in 1992, Mr. Hurst developed and implemented call center software solutions for airlines and transportation industries as Senior Software Architect for American Airlines Decision Technologies. Mr. Hurst began his career as a network manager for the Pentagon where he managed a team of engineers to establish network security at the U.S. Air Force headquarters.
Mr. Thomas joins uniView from Omega Environmental Technologies, where he held a similar position. Thomas has also held senior positions with Currency Systems International, Inc., a manufacturer of high-speed document processing equipment for central and commercial banks around the world, and a Dallas-based, publicly traded international transportation services and logistics company.
