Governmental agencies warring over platinum. Russia? No, the US of A. (Too bad the US Mint didn't make a palladium coin too, then we could have a small stockpile just like the Russians.)

US Mint talking with DLA about returning borrowed platinum
New York--Mar 8--The US Mint is in "constructive discussions" with the
Defense Logistics Agency on how and when it will return more of the platinum it
borrowed from the DLA to start its platinum coin program. The Mint has already agreed to return 4,000 ounces this fiscal year. Reports it will return the full 200,000 ounces it borrowed within this fiscal year are incorrect, it said. (Story .22761)
