"MSFT may even agree to take a certain portion of dresden ie dresden partner." I could also see MSFT making an investment in AMD, particularly if AMD's profit margin on the X-Box is going to be low. Why should AMD bear all the risk of ramping up for a product that may or may not succeed? A $150-250 million investment from MSFT might completely change the risk factors for AMD, and would be chicken feed for MSFT.
