during this monster rise, i tried only once to short via long puts (was ITM after only a few hours, but of course held out for more)... I got smart a few days later and was fortunate to get out even. (not that I wasn't tempted to do it more than once :-) mostly, I've been short puts off and on, and made pocket change compared to just being long (like I managed to do for one of my kids accts). the split is a non-event. MSFT has actually lost about half of its mkt weighting in the NDX since a few months ago. CSCO and INTC are very close on its tail (%-age wise)
