I have felt for some time that Alta will have to joint venture or sell out or be taken over, just because they have a lot in the ground but not much in the bank. As Olinghouse continues to expand in reserves, it will be more and more attractive to the Newmonts and Homestakes of the world ----- if the price of gold will just stop dropping. If the price of gold approaches $300, forget it.
