Netscape does not GIVE its product away. They charge their
corporate customers. However, they are unable to charge
the home customer because Microsoft is abusing its powerful
OS market dominance by giving away IE for free
(and also bundling it with all flavors of MS-OSes)
even though by Microsoft's
own admission Microsoft is spending >1bn$/yr on internet
related programming.

If Netscape tried to force the Consumer market to pay for
the browser nobody would pay for it and Microsoft's
propietary "standards" (sic) would control -
