No... Here try this. Microsoft arlready owns the desktop OS market - they don't really need to do much innovation there to maintain their dominance. What has been a challenge for them is breaking into the higher end server space - where SUNW dominates. Their biggest issue has been reliability and scalability and this is what W2K is targeted at.... Microsoft's goal is to expand their market and create shareholder value by cultivating a new market in the SP's, ISP's, and LEC's...also part of the reason Microsoft has invested so much in these businesses during the past 12 months. Hope that helps. Oh...this is why W2K is rock-solid and why it took so long to get it out the door. W2K had to be as close to flawless as possible or Microsoft's target to grow by gaining share in the SP's would fail. Time will tell if they got it right but I can tell the difference myself. OG
